ProfitTrailer Review: Our Opinion
ProfitTrailer is a complex crypto trading bot targeted at developers and advanced users familiar with using technical crypto trading bots. The crypto trading bot also has a confusing/expensive price structure that is filled with add-ons and semi-lifetime licenses that can shoot the cost of the product to over $1,000.
Also, ProfitTrailer isn’t a cloud-based solution and installation can be a hassle for beginners and non-technical individuals. The trading bot platform offers a Profit Trailer VPS that comes with the crypto trading bot pre-installed but this goes for an additional cost.
In general, Profit Trailer is not the best trading bot in terms of ease of use or pricing but the automated trading software supports multiple crypto exchanges and an ample selection of trading pairs.

Profit Trailer was founded on September 8, 2017. The crypto trading bot, Profit Trailer claims that it is sponsored by Binance, Kucoin, and Bybit.
It offers a simple automated crypto trading service that gives users access to over 40 built-in technical indicators as well as the ability to process TradingView alerts via a paid add-on.

Paper Trading
ProfitTrailer allows you to practice paper trading using the test mode. This is similar to a demo account.
Through a paper trading account, you can test your strategies and bots before trading in the actual market. This allows you to confirm the efficacy of your strategies and bot before using your assets.
To start trading on the test mode, you need to first set your starting balance and pairs. Your paper trading balance can also be reset with just a click, using the “Reset” button.
You can use paper trading in the test mode and also trade in the live market at the same time.

DCA Bot
The ProfitTrailer DCA Bot lets you split up the total amount you wish to invest across periodic purchases of a target crypto asset to reduce the effect of volatility on the overall purchase.
The DCA Bot buys additional amounts of the set coin as the price decreases, this helps to lower the average combined purchase price for the coin.
ProfitTrailer has a separate tab under Active Config that is dedicated to DCA settings.
In this tab, you can insert commands like your buy and sell strategies, DCA levels, and other commands for your DCA bot.
To activate DCA in ProfitTrailer, you need to activate the DCA process in the “Pairs” tab.
To do this simply use this line DEFAULT_DCA_enabled = true. Using “true” in this line enables DCA. To disable it use “False”.
Once the DCA function is enabled, all of your positions will automatically apply for the conditions met in the DCA tab, and follow the instructions you specified there.
Note that once DCA is enabled, it will use a lot of your balance in a hurry if the price of the coins you bought too high begin to drop in value. This is because the default DCA buy percentage is usually 100% of the current amount of coin you hold.
ProfitTrailer allows you to set the amount or the coin being purchased in each DCA cycle for each subsequent purchase using a DCA level-specific setting.
You can also use a percentage drop to send the pairs to the DCA log using DEFAULT_DCA_enabled = -2. This will send the coins to DCA when the coins drop 2% in price.
If you do not want this enabled, you can turn it off with “False”. If you are just starting, you should turn it off.
Supported Crypto Exchanges
ProfitTrailer supports 13 cryptocurrency exchanges. Supported exchanges include Bittrex, Poloniex, Binance US, Coinbase Pro, Binance DEX, Huobi, BitMEX, Binance, Bybit, Binance Futures, Bybit Futures, KuCoin, and KuCoin Futures.

Profit Trailer offers a large selection of buy and sell strategies that trigger actions based on different conditions. These include Signal, LOWBB, HIGHBB, GAIN, CHANGE PERCENTAGE, and much more.
That said, most of these strategies are based on pre-available technical indicators.
Customizable Strategies
You can set up custom strategies with the Profit Trailer trading bot using technical indicators.
To do that you’ll need to go to the Indicators tab found under Active Config and set the custom values for the corresponding buy strategy for automated crypto trading.
An example would be adding the following lines of code in the indicator tap: RSI_candle_period = 7200, as well as RSI_length = 14, based on charting analysis that corresponds.

Opening a Profit Trailer Bot Account

Using uppercase as a lowercase letter will give you an error code during startup.
