Matilde Ferreira
Matilde Ferreira writes Skrumble's product reviews and the country guides built on them: crypto exchanges, wallets, cards, neobanks, on-ramps, cross-chain bridges and stablecoins. Her reviews are desk research on primary sources, such as regulator registers, fee schedules, audit reports and court records; reviews updated since October 2026 give every source a date.

What does Matilde Ferreira cover?
Product reviews, and the country guides that rank them. Her byline is on 52 reviews: 14 exchanges, seven wallets, two crypto cards, one neobank, four on-ramps, nine cross-chain bridges, 15 stablecoins. She also writes the 17 country guides that say which reviewed products suit readers in a given country (for example crypto exchanges in the United States), and four guides, all listed below.
Her areas of expertise, listed further down this page, start from her original Skrumble author profile (cryptocurrency, crypto exchanges, crypto bridges, investing, financial education, content writing and content quality assurance) and add the areas her reviews have since covered: wallets and self-custody, on-ramps, cards, neobanks, stablecoins and crypto regulation. Her profile lists English and Spanish as her working languages.
How is a review under her byline researched?
From documents, not from personal use. Skrumble does no hands-on testing, so her reviews describe what a company has published and what regulators and courts have recorded; reviews updated since October 2026 give every source a date. Until October 17, 2026, some exchange reviews dated May 2026 described tests, such as support tickets or order timings, that we have no record of. That wording was removed on October 17, 2026.
Since October 2026 each review goes through four checks before it goes live: a claim ledger that records every fact with its source and dates, a separate challenge pass that re-opens the sources and has the final word, a sentence-by-sentence check of the finished draft, and a 100-point audit with a pass mark of 75. Of her 52 reviews, 27 have been through that full process. Her 9 bridge reviews were refreshed in October from the claim ledger and challenge pass behind the bridges guide. The rest show a May 2026 date and were checked under that version, which verified each page's highest-stakes claims. The methodology explains both.
Each category has fixed, published weights. The pillar scores are set against the evidence in each review, relative to the other products in the same category, and the overall score is plain arithmetic on top. The weights for every category, and a worked example for each category except stablecoins, are on the methodology pages.
Which scoring rubrics does she apply?
One for each of the six categories below, each with five pillars. The heaviest pillar shows what a category is judged on first:
- Crypto exchanges: Security & Trust carries 30% of the score.
- Crypto wallets: Security carries 40% of the score.
- Crypto cards: Cashback Value carries 30% of the score.
- Crypto neobanks: Crypto Feature Breadth carries 25% of the score.
- On-ramps: Cost carries 35% of the score.
- Cross-chain bridges: Security & Audits carries 35% of the score.
Stablecoins use their own weight sets, shown on the methodology overview: liquidity and transparency lead for fiat-backed coins, and operational status leads for coins that are winding down.
What does her work not cover?
Personal advice. A review compares documented evidence across products in one category; it does not know your circumstances and does not tell you what to buy. Where a review covers tax, it describes the rules a tax authority has published, with the source, and it is not a substitute for an adviser.
Hands-on experience. Because nothing is tested in person, her reviews cannot tell you how long your own verification will take or how a support agent will answer you.
How do I report an error in one of her reviews?
Use the contact page and include the page, the claim and your source. The primary source is re-opened; if the review is wrong, it is corrected, any affected score is re-checked and the review's updated date moves. How Skrumble earns money, and why commissions play no part in a score, is on how we make money.
