Skrumble Editorial

Skrumble Editorial is the byline for work produced by the Skrumble desk rather than by one named writer: the methodology pages that explain how every score is built, and explainers on blockchain basics, DeFi, staking, wallets and buying crypto. Skrumble does no hands-on testing; its pages are documented desk research.

What is Skrumble Editorial?

It is a shared byline, not a pen name for one writer. It covers the seven methodology pages that explain how every score is built, and 32 explainers on blockchain basics, DeFi, staking, wallet security, buying crypto, trading and tax.

Product reviews are not published under this byline. They carry Matilde Ferreira's name, and most coin explainers carry Carla Moretti's.

Which topics do the explainers cover?

Concepts and how-to guides rather than products. By topic:

  • Blockchain basics (six): blockchains, smart contracts, rollups, zero-knowledge proofs, mining and tokenization.
  • DeFi (seven): what DeFi is, lending, yield farming, impermanent loss, oracles, MEV and using Uniswap.
  • Staking (four): how staking works, restaking, and staking ETH and SOL.
  • Buying crypto (three): step-by-step guides for Bitcoin, Ethereum and Solana.
  • Wallets (three): what a wallet is, account abstraction and using MetaMask.
  • Stablecoins (two): what a stablecoin is and how stable yield accounts work.
  • Culture and distribution (three): NFTs, airdrops and DAOs.
  • Trading (two): trading strategies and perpetual futures.
  • Tax (one): US crypto tax for 2026.
  • Bridges (one): how to bridge crypto between chains.

A method page states rules that apply to every author, so it is published under the desk byline rather than a personal one. The same goes for explainers that the desk maintains as a set.

How is its work checked?

The methodology pages, revised on 17 October 2026, went through the current four checks: a claim ledger that records every fact with its source and dates, a separate challenge pass that re-opens the sources and has the final word, a sentence-by-sentence check of the finished draft, and a 100-point audit with a pass mark of 75. Their weights and score tables are read from the same data as the reviews, so they cannot drift from what readers see on a review.

The explainers are dated May 2026 and were checked under the process in force when each was written; the May 2026 version checked each page's highest-stakes claims against primary sources, without leaving a separate record. Skrumble does no hands-on testing, and these pages explain what a protocol or tool does, not whether to use it.

How do I report an error?

Use the contact page and include the page, the claim and your source. If the page is wrong, it is corrected and its updated date moves. How Skrumble is funded is on how we make money.
