An explainer answers what a coin or tool is, how it works and what can go wrong with it. Product reviews and scores are written under Matilde Ferreira's byline, not Carla's.

The same core questions every time, so one coin can be compared with another. Her explainers cover foundational coins (Bitcoin and Solana), established altcoins (Polygon, Ripple, Cardano, Polkadot and Avalanche) and exchange and ecosystem tokens (Momentum, Gnosis, Cronos and Binance Coin).

• How does the network work, and who built it?
• What is the token for, and how is its supply set?
• How do you buy it, and where should you store it?
• Can you stake it or earn yield on it, and what does that involve?
• Is it legal where you live, and how is it taxed?
• What are the real risks of holding it?

Every coin explainer has a how-it-works section, a buying section (all but one also cover storage) and a risks section; most also cover staking or yield, and legality and tax. Headings are written as questions, and each section opens with a direct answer.

To the reviews, which do the comparing. An explainer tells you what a coin is; it does not tell you where to buy or keep it. For that:

• To store a coin you have read about, the crypto wallet reviews compare where each wallet keeps your keys and which networks it supports.
• To buy it, the exchange reviews and on-ramp reviews compare fees, licences and payment methods.
• To move tokens between networks after reading the DEX guide, the bridge reviews cover security, speed and cost.

Coin facts age quickly. Supply figures, staking rates and the status of exchange-traded funds change month to month, so every guide shows its date. Check it before you rely on a number, and use the sources the guide cites to see the latest figure.

From sources, the same way as every Skrumble page. Her guides are dated May 2026 and were checked under the process in force at the time. Claims were extracted from each draft, and the highest-stakes ones were checked against primary sources, which the guide cites; that check left no separate record.

Pages updated since October 2026 go through four checks: a claim ledger that records every fact with its source and dates, a separate challenge pass that re-opens the sources and has the final word, a sentence-by-sentence check of the finished draft, and a 100-point audit with a pass mark of 75.
