How to Transfer Crypto From Bitbuy to Metamask?

To transfer crypto from your Bitbuy wallet to your MetaMask wallet you need to send a particular digital currency from your Bitbuy account to your wallet address for the same digital currency and blockchain network on MetaMask.
However, before you can begin sending digital currency to MetaMask wallet addresses you need to create a Bitbuy account and MetaMask account.

Step 1: Create a Bitbuy Account
To create an account on Bitbuy, you need to go to https://bitbuy.ca/en/sign-up. Note that you must be a Canadian citizen or resident to be eligible for an account.
Once there, enter your email address and then select a strong password following the recommended alphanumeric instructions from the system.
Choose a username and input a referral code if you have one (this isn’t compulsory).
After submitting your data, Bitbuy will send you an email to verify that the email address you’ve entered is yours.
Next, you’ll be redirected to a page where you’ll have to confirm your Canadian mobile phone number.
On the page, enter a valid Canadian mobile phone number with a +1 country code and verify your number by inputting the SMS code that the Bitbuy crypto exchange sent to your phone.
From this point, you’ll need to enter personal data for identity verification through their automated third-party identity verification service.
After your identity has been verified, Bitbuy is required by Canadian regulators to ask a couple of questions about your financial profile and risk profile before you’re permitted to start sending digital currency to other wallet addresses like MetaMask.
Your answers to these questions will be assessed to determine if you’re eligible to have an account and start investing in digital currency. The assessment looks at your investment knowledge, risk tolerance, current financial situation, investment objectives, etc.

Step 2: Create a MetaMask Account
Since you’re going to send digital currency from a Bitbuy wallet address to a MetaMask address, you need an account on the latter.
To do so, go to the Google Play Store or Apple App Store and download the Metamask mobile app.
Alternatively, you can use the MetaMask web extension on Chrome by searching for MetaMask in the extension section and adding it to your browser.
Once you’ve downloaded MetaMask, launch the crypto app. Next, you’ll be required to copy the secret recovery seed phrase, which holds the private keys to your digital currencies.
Copy the secret seed phrase and then when requested by the MetaMask system input them in the same order as they were shown to you.
That’s it! You’ve created a MetaMask wallet account.
Step 3: Send Digital Currency from Bitbuy Wallet to MetaMask Wallet Address
- Open your MetaMask wallet and tap on the receive button at the bottom of your screen.
- Next, search for the particular digital currency you want to send from Bitbuy.
- Once it shows up as a search result, tap on the coin and you’ll see a QR Code for the intended wallet address, a public wallet address, and a Request a Payment option.
- Copy the wallet address.
- Go back to your Bitbuy account and click on the Accounts section located in the main toolbar.
- Choose the cryptocurrency you want to use for digital currency withdrawals and click on it. This will open a new page that shows the particular cryptocurrency price history and a trade and transfer button.
- Click on the Transfer button and a pop-up will show asking you to ‘deposit” or “withdraw”.
- Tap on withdraw.
- Next, enter the amount of the digital currency you want to send from the wallet and then paste the MetaMask wallet address you copied.
- Click Continue and review the withdrawal request.
- Enter your two-factor authentication code to complete the withdrawal request. This step is added for security purposes.
That’s it! You’ve successfully sent cryptocurrency from your Bitbuy account to MetaMask.
Note that if you don’t have crypto on Bitbuy, the crypto exchange supports local payment methods like interac e-transfer to deposit and then buy crypto on assets on the platform. The Interac e-transfer method typically takes 30 minutes to reflect in your account.
